KPA specializes in the management of community associations. Since our founding we have been a leader in the management of community associations — both the conversion of apartment communities and new construction.

Six decades of continuity
1963
Klingbeil Management Group formed
James Klingbeil founded KMGI to manage his apartment projects, which grew to exceed 20,000 units coast-to-coast.
1970
Tom Powell joins KMGI
A year after joining as a property manager in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Powell moved to the Northern Virginia office as Regional Director for the East Coast.
1978
The community management division
KMGI began converting Pennsbury Village Apartments to Cardinal Forest Condominium, and Mr. Powell founded the community management division.

Over 30 years of management experience, serving as a portfolio manager for hi-rise, garden, townhouse and mid-style associations at KPA since 2003.

In the property management field since 1989, bringing deep operational experience to the communities she serves.

Community Manager
Over 10 years in association and commercial property management, and 2014 Property Manager of the Year before relocating to the DC region.
